The Equity Resiliency SGIP rebate lowers the cost of an energy storage battery to almost, if not completely, free of cost! Depending on if customer is eligible for the Equity Resilience program, they can receive $1,000 per kilowatt-hour.
If the requirements are met, customers are able to receive $1000 per kilowatt-hour. The Tesla Powerwall 3 has a capacity of 13.5kWh resulting in a $13,500 cash rebate per battery. Those eligible can receive up to $40,500 in cash incentives from the SGIP program depending on the size of their solar system and with the purchase of 3 batteries.
You must have experienced two or more Public Safety Power Shut-offs (PSPSs) OR live in a Tier 2 or Tier 3 High Fire Threat District.
AND one of the following additional criteria:
You live in multifamily deed-restricted housing or a single-family home subject to resale restrictions.
You are currently enrolled in a utility Medical Baseline Program:
You have notified your utility of serious illness and/or life-threatening condition.
You have received or reserved other solar-related incentives (including SASH, DAC-SASH, MASH, or SOMAH programs).
Your home relies on electric pump wells for water.
The High Fire Threat District Map provided by the California Public Utilities Commission will allow you to search if your home is in a tier 1 or tier 2 fire zone.

One of the most common ways to meet the second of the two requirements is to qualify for the Medical Baseline Program. As per the California Public Utilities Commission, any medical device that is deemed "life support equipment" will qualify you for this program.

Motorized wheelchairs
Hemodialysis machines
Suction machines
Electric nerve stimulators
pressure pads and pumps
Aerosol tents
Electrostatic and ultrasonic nebulizers
Compressors
